2000-08-06, 13:24:10, belated new year thoughts
an old post I made to sff.people.gpc: [late, but the memory remains with me] I got away from the tv and managed to get to the piers of Devonport to catch the harbour fireworks. It was luverly. Firework showers from the Skytower + showers from the Harbour bridge + 3 barges full of fireworks shooting up into the overcast night sky. Very mystical with the backlit clouds glowing green/red/blue/orange, depending on the colour of the fireworks exploding above the clouds. Then there was the terrific 1-2 hr traffic jam travelling on the wee roads of Devonport leading back to the city. -- lies and chicanery fall dead
