No one has a right to sit down and feel hopeless. There's too much work to do! -- Dorothy Day

Saturday, Jul. 15, 2006, 7:16 a.m., newer boss here

Update: my newer boss is here and has been here for the past two weeks.

Memo to self: must stop telling boss what to do and how to do things - bad form, what.

p.s. newer boss is very nice and has existing relationships with practically everyone else at work! and with other people within the arts community in the country.

Wednesday, Apr. 05, 2006, 10:33 p.m., even better

Today's news is that new boss is staying until I go on holiday. I don't get any additional work at all!

Tuesday, Apr. 04, 2006, 4:58 p.m., new boss resigning

So my new boss is resigning. Final day 28 April. I don't much worry anymore. I'm going on holiday on 10 May and then return to work on 1 June.

Monday, Mar. 27, 2006, 6:37 p.m., 3 jobs in one day

Today was one hell of a kicker. Many more of these and I will be in breakdown.

I spent my time between doing my own work, the Receptionist's work, and my manager's work.

I really hate doing the Receptionist's work when the receptionist is still there. I feel put upon and I do the work with dissatisfaction and petulance.

Anyway. So I complete part of the manager's job. And my own work is incomplete.

I want to tell R that when she isn't doing her work, it increases my stress level (because it means I am doing her work and not mine). Each time my stress level increases, I am more inclined to call in sick and use some of my 22 days of sick leave. What that means is that my manager (once she gets back from sick leave) will have extra stress to cope with my work.

Fuck it.

At least I'm having cornfed chicken casserole tonight, with freshly made two-day old salsa.
It's turning out to be a good night.
